The use of veterinary drugs may increase the production of livestock or fish. These drugs include:
- Antibiotics (aminoglycosides, chloramphenicol, fluoroquinolones, malachite green dye, etc.) are used to inhibit microbial growth
- Addition feed (hormaon dansteroid) which is used to increase the yield.
There is a possibility that residue remains in food products even after processing. It can result in negative effects for human health (including carcinogens and allergens).
Dyes (Food Coloring)
Food coloring, or color additive, is any dye, pigment or substance that imparts color when it is added to food or drink. They come in many forms consisting of liquids, powders, gels, and pastes. Food coloring is used both in commercial food production and in domestic cooking. Food colorants are also used in a variety of non-food applications including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, home craft projects, and medical devices.
