VITAMIN
Vitamins are a group of organic compounds with the mass of small molecules that have the vital function of aiding in the metabolism in every organism. Vitamins help aid in the organization as well as the functions in the body of organisms that otherwise cannot be naturally done.
Vitamins have a specific role in the body and can also provide many health benefits. The body only needs a small amount of vitamins but if this small amount is ignored, metabolism will be disrupted because the human body is not able to replicate the functions of vitamins. This disturbance is known as Avitaminosis. An example is if we suffer from a deficiency of vitamin A then we will become shortsighted. However, vitamin consumption should also not be excessive because it could also disrupt our metabolism.
Grouping of vitamins based on its solubility in water :
- Soluble vitamin in water: Vitamin B and Vitamin C
- Insoluble vitamin in water : Vitamin A, D, E, and K or as known as Vitamin ADEK.
