Microbiology
Microbiology is a part of biology study, which focuses on microorganisms. The focus of food microbiology is the study of microorganisms that inhabit, create, and spoil food and makes it unsafe. Methods of testing include: Technical testing using platting, streak plate, spread plate and pour plate, and membrane filter method.
MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
Molecular biology is a branch of biology that is related to the study of molecules on a molecular scale. It studies the interactions between various cell systems, including the interactions between the different kinds of DNA, RNA and protein synthesis, and also how the interaction is arranged.
Molecular biology is a multi-discipline whereby it consists of: biochemistry, cell biology and genetics. Real Time PCR (qPCR) is an instrument that is commonly used for molecular biology. An analysis using Real Time PCR is possibly used for observing the reactions taking place in real-time from one cycle to the next cycle without the use of electrophoresis (agarose) to see the results. The results can be seen using DNA amplification, and can be observed on a graph that is a result of fluorescent accumulation from a probe(marker). PT Angler Biochemlab provides the following tests:
